where the sky embraced us | donde el cielo nos abrazó [2018]

A duet performed by Vladimir Montenegro and Liasel Plasencia, followed by a solo by Adrian Vivanco, and finally a solo performed by Gustavo Vernaza in the 2018 work "where the sky embraced us" created by Scotty Hardwig for the National Ballet of Ecuador.

Created in 2018 as part of a choreographic invitation from the contemporary dance company of the National Ballet of Ecuador, donde el cielo nos abrazó (where the sky embraced us) is a sequence of choreographic vignettes focused on the raw expressive power of human connection and ensemble-based choreography through touch and momentum. The stage work was then adapted into an emotive videodance collage filmed on location in Quito and the Mindo Valley of Ecuador.
